Protect Your License and Your Record

Virginia has strict driving laws. It is easy to lose your driving privileges. To prevent this from happening, you may want to work with a lawyer when you are charged with offenses such as reckless driving, speeding, driving on a suspended license and DUI, including Breathalyzer test refusal. We understand that losing your license will create multiple problems. Our attorney will fight hard to keep or restore your driving privileges and minimize any other penalties.

The Law Offices of Easter P. Moses provides experienced defense against DUI and traffic offense charges. Attorney Moses has substantial criminal defense experience that allows him to obtain favorable results. For example, if you were charged with reckless driving or speeding, we may be able to have you placed in the driver improvement program or have the charge reduced to a non-moving violation. DUI, Reckless Driving and License Suspension Defense

Your first DUI is a first-degree misdemeanor. If you plead guilty or are convicted, you may face penalties such as:

  • $250 to $2,500 in fines
  • Driver’s license suspension for one year
  • A jail sentence
  • Alcohol treatment
  • Community service

We will investigate the charges against you and examine the results of the breathalyzer and/or blood tests. In addition, we will review the police procedure to determine whether your constitutional rights were violated.

Reckless driving is a class one misdemeanor. A conviction can mean penalties that include a fine of up to $2,500, up to one year in jail and the loss of your driver’s license. You may be charged with reckless driving for driving 20 miles per hour (mph) or more over the speed limit, or for driving more than 80 mph.

If you accumulate 12 demerit points in 12 months or 18 points in 24 months, your driver’s license can be suspended. We can represent you at the license suspension hearing to argue for the restoration of your driving privileges.
